Finding an Oasis

Today’s daily prompt is near to my heart:

“A sanctuary is a place you can escape to, to catch your breath and remember who you are. Write about the place you go to three days at sea, life's storms, Jesus calms storm, Jesus in the boatwhen everything is a bit too much.”

I prefer getting away to a quiet place in nature, a place that is green and cool.

With a husband and four children (two still at home) a time to get away for peace and quiet does not always present itself. So time has to be set apart, like a date, and treasured as sacred. When getting away is not possible, the next best thing is getting up early in the morning before the rest of my family and settling into a comfy chair in the living room.

I open the blinds and the sliding glass door to the balcony allowing the cool morning air to refresh my body and watch for the rising sun. I open up my Bible, reading some from the Old Testament and some from the New, allowing God’s Word to refresh my soul. The most important part about remember who I am, is reminding myself who I am in the eyes of the Only One that matters . . . the Lord!

The words in this Father’s love letter are an especially good reminder of who we are in Him!
