The Do’s not Dont’s

Too often I hear people say that the Bible is full of “don’ts.” Why not instead focus on the “do’s?” Here’s a summary of my study of Ephesians chapters 4-6.

Walk worthy.

Be humble, gentle, patient, tolerant, loving.

Persevere in unity and peace.

Speak truth in love.

Grow up!

Lay aside old self. Put on new self.

Be renewed in spirit and mind.

Be imitators of God.

Walk in love.

Give thanks.

Be good, righteous, true.

Please God.

Walk in light.

Expose deeds of darkness.

Speak in psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs.

Give thanks always.

Be subject to one another in Christ.

Submit to your husband.

Love your wife as Christ loved the church.

Obey and honor your parents.

Obey those in authority over you.

Be strong in the Lord.

Put on the armor of God: truth, peace, faith, salvation, Spirit of God.

Pray at all times.

Be on alert.

Be wise.

Make the most of your time.

Be filled with the Holy Spirit.
