Traces

This journey’s over

And there is gladness in her heart.

Though sadness flickers

At the thought of faces,

Traces of those who marked the way

Those who were there to hold

The broken pieces

Those who cared, but won’t get to see the joy

The tear-stained pillow cases

The journals full of prayers

The cries of heartache echoed

Down the halls…

Replaced

With laughter, giggles, tickles, and

Silly Faces

  1. I waited eight long years after marriage to have my first baby, until I felt financially secure enough to take care of children. I know that joy, and thank God every day for the two I had – now adults that I still cherish. We are very blessed to be moms.
